Behavior Rehabilitation Consultation Package
$350/$425*
Aggressive, reactive, anxious, or fearful behavior can be overwhelming for both you and your dog. Our Behavior Rehabilitation Package provides individualized support from a certified behavior consultant and includes an initial behavior consultation and one follow-up appointment.
During these sessions, we will evaluate your dog’s behavior, identify contributing factors and triggers, and begin developing a personalized training and behavior modification plan designed around your dog and household.
Wednesday and Thursday daytime appointments: $350
Includes the initial consultation and one follow-up appointment.
Saturday morning appointments: $425
Includes the initial consultation and one follow-up appointment. Saturday appointments are offered at a premium rate due to limited availability and higher demand for weekend scheduling.
These two appointments are intended to be the beginning of the behavior rehabilitation process. Complex behavioral concerns frequently require additional private training sessions and ongoing support to create meaningful, lasting progress. Recommendations for continued training will be discussed based on your dog’s individual needs and response to the initial plan.
Video conferencing consultations are also available.

AKC Canine Good Citizen Testing
$30
The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test is a nationally recognized evaluation developed by the American Kennel Club to assess a dog’s manners, confidence, and ability to remain under control in everyday situations. The test includes skills such as greeting a friendly stranger, walking politely on leash, remaining calm around distractions, accepting handling, and responding appropriately when separated briefly from the owner.
CGC testing is offered in Chula Vista, California as a private 20-minute appointment. Dogs that successfully complete all test items may be eligible to receive the AKC Canine Good Citizen title after submitting the required paperwork to the American Kennel Club.

Optimal Skills for Therapy Dogs Class
$180
This advanced 6 week small-group class is designed for dog-and-handler teams preparing for therapy dog work. Each class is located at a different location to encourage development of skills in the community. Dogs must successfully complete the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test before enrolling.
The course builds the skills needed to successfully pass the Optimal Therapy Dog Certification Test. Dogs are trained to remain calm, confident, and responsive in community settings. Training focuses on polite greetings, handling by unfamiliar people, maintaining composure around distractions, respecting personal space, and providing appropriate comfort without becoming overly excited or overwhelmed.
Because successful therapy work depends on both members of the team, handlers will also learn how to recognize signs of stress, advocate for their dogs, manage interactions, and determine whether therapy work is an appropriate and enjoyable activity for their dog.
A Optimal Therapy Dog Certification test attempt is included with enrollment and may be scheduled at the handler’s request once the team is ready. Passing the class does not automatically guarantee certification.
Certification retesting: $50

Additional Group Classes
Optimal Dog Training and Molly Krutkramelis also contract with San Diego Humane Society to offer additional small-group dog training classes at the San Diego Humane Society Gaines Street location.
Classes are available for dogs as young as eight weeks old and include beginning and intermediate-level training, as well as introductory dog sports classes. These programs provide opportunities to build practical skills, improve communication, strengthen the bond between dogs and their handlers, and continue training in a structured and supportive group environment.
Please visit the San Diego Humane Society website for current class offerings, schedules, locations, and registration information.
